There is a certain kind of creative chemistry that cannot be planned. For WibeZz and Canadian vocalist May-Ah, it began three years ago at an outdoor doof in Australia. That chance meeting led to “Illusions,” their first collaborative release—and now, with “DRIP,” the pair unveil their third track together.
Behind the WibeZz project is producer Felix Wiele, whose sound sits comfortably in the more adventurous corners of dubstep, 140 and freeform bass. His productions are defined by deep low-end, experimental textures and tribal rhythmic influences, with a style shaped by releases across a number of labels, particularly in the U.S. bass music scene.
“DRIP” brings that production approach together with May-Ah’s distinctive vocal style. Her sweet, airy delivery adds a human and melodic dimension to the track’s darker electronic framework. Rather than overpowering one another, the vocal and bass elements move in tandem, creating a spacious, immersive listening experience.
As their third joint release, “DRIP” demonstrates how far the artists’ connection has developed since that first session. It is a meeting of international perspectives, bass-driven experimentation and emotive songwriting—made for fans who like their electronic music both heavy and atmospheric.
